Established in 1962 by Gerrie Nel snr, 1983 Eben Nel started at the butchery after his training as meat technician and since 2016, Ruben Nel, the third generation joined this family business.

Vacuum packaging is recommended for traveling. Orders can be placed in advance through our website- where a wide variety of cuts and products can be chosen from. Send us an email when traveling from abroad and other provinces.

Unique recipes – our droëwors and biltong which is preservative free –  formulated by Mr Nel snr is still in use  and Eben is known for the best boerewors – “EBEN SE WENWORS” – our signature line!

The butchery is known for quality and diversity. Biltong giftpacks or cones, meat platters for all occasions, handpainted ceramic gifts, butchery- and pocket knives are a few to name.

Quality spices and marinades, olive oils, filtered coffee, export quality rooibos tea and Pella dates are available to enhance our meat products.

Days Dry Ageing Method

Like Intense Beef Flavour? Dry Ageing  – The concept of meat maturing.

Intensive flavour and extraordinary tenderness is the result of dry ageing meat the traditional way, a method used for many years. The pleasure of eating dry-aged meat is incomparable to other ordinary meat and therefor every mouthful worth!

Time, a micro climate of controlled temperature, humidity and air quality is needed to age the perfect meatcut.
